My experience with oils was limited to admiring those massive paintings that grace the walls of museums and well, that one oil painting class I took in college from some time ago. So this was my first legitimate try at making an actual oil painting. And I am so happy with how it turned out!
As the product description tells you- the box comes with every single item you would need. The entire setup takes less than a minute, super convenient. All you need from your end really is a place to sit, a device to play their instructional video on (I just used my phone) and a bit of time to paint. The best accompaniment is of course the Instructional video where the teacher paints along by your side, gently guiding you along. I cannot emphasize how much of a game changer it is to be able to rewind the video whenever you miss something. Her instructions also tell you why you are doing what you’re doing at every stage in the painting. So you can learn a bit more and not just copy. The whole process took me 2-ish hours, at the end of which I had a great painting I felt proud of. To conclude here.. I personally haven't seen anything come close to this concept. Paint and Sips don't really teach you how to paint, and traditional art classes can run quite expensive as it is but in addition you'd have to get your own supplies. Moreover.. it was just so easy to pick up because everything I could have needed to make this painting happen came in that box. ArtSkool box therefore lives up to its name, no doubt! Two thumbs ups from my end! :)
